GARDEN ROOM

This project involved the design of a new extension to replace an outdated conservatory that had become increasingly uncomfortable. The original conservatory would overheat in the summer and become too cold in winter, yet the client was keen to preserve the light it provided deeper into the house. We proposed a design that would build upon the existing footprint, minimizing the need for extensive groundwork. The new extension is a simple, unassuming form, focusing instead on creating a warm, practical and cozy internal environment.

 

The main design feature is a generous, comfortable window seat incorporating a large sliding window that can open fully to the outside. This seamless connection to the outdoors allows our wildlife-loving client the comfort of being inside with the feeling of being immersed in their nature-friendly garden.​
